Being entrusted with someone’s family member is an absolute honour.

So it makes sense that being a professional dog walker is more than just a job. 

Starting up in this industry can be overwhelming at first. 

Starting up:

• Which insurance do I need

• Should I buy a van

• Where do I advertise?

• Where do I get a DBS from?

• Should I work for someone else?

As you start to build your business new questions arise. 

Client building:

• How many dogs can I take at once

• What’s the safest way to transport the dogs

• How do I use a longline correctly?

And you can never predict, but you may want to have a plan for the unexpected. 

Emergencies:

• My van broke down

• A wasp has stung one of the dogs

• The key’s broken off in the door!

All of these (and many more!) were questions I had and events that I experienced when I first started.
