We’ve all seen them by now. Gloriously waterproof on the outside, fluffy and warm on the inside and in a multitude of colours to match your van, shoes or dog 😉
But, are dry robes any good for dog walking?
Isn’t it too ‘flappy’?
Talking to the pro dog walkers who have tried, it turns out the original brand (you know…them…) is fantastic at an easy on/easy off coverall after a wild water swim, but just a bit too flappy to stop the breeze/wind/gales away from your under crackers and if you’re on the smaller side, you run the risk of taking off completely like a pound shop Mary Poppins (Hairy Poppins?)
I have a D******e (am an open water swimmer), and much as it is fantastic for puppy night trips to the garden as I can pull it on as I run down the stairs and be warm, waterproof and decent, its not something I’d wear to walk the dog as the wind goes up the sleeves and it is too flappy.

What we have heard good things about is…drumroll… the D-Robe. So is it the best dryrobe for dog walking?
With adjustable sleeve cuffs and a storm flap that covers the entire length of the two way YKK zip, you’re completely protected against the worst of the UK weather.
What about pockets?
We need pockets! Poo bags, leads, treats, first aid kit, hat, gloves, phone and car keys.
The D-Robe has a plethora of pockets and, wait for it, a removable one too. So you know exactly what’s going in that one. Dog treats!
And don’t just keep it for dog walking either. Whether you’re a sideline spectator, festival-goer, wild swimmer, weekend camper, or just wrapping up to keep as warm as possible, this Robe works in every way.
The Beaufort Outdoor Robe is designed for an active lifestyle and brags some sustainability rights too by using a recycled polyester fleece inner and recycled nylon outer shell. And they are (of course) vegan. (and they use fully recyclable boxes made entirely in the UK and they wrap their outdoor robes in tote canvas bags that are ethically sourced in India from SEDEX and SA8000 accredited factories and then printed in the UK.)
With a 14 day return policy (yes, they even pay the return postage if you’re in the UK) what have you got to lose?
